One random morning in Aug 2024:
→ Mobile banking app = ₹48,200
→ Downloaded bank statement = ₹62,700
Instant panic!
Then I remembered three cheques worth ₹18,000 were still not presented + bank had credited ₹500 interest which I never recorded.
Made a quick Bank Reconciliation Statement and also ca
ught one employee who had entered a fake ₹5,000 expense. Saved ₹23,000 fraud that month.

| Balance as per Cash Book | ₹48,200 |
| Add: Interest credited by bank | ₹500 |
| Add: Direct deposit by customer | ₹14,000 |
| Less: Cheques issued but not presented | (₹18,000) |
| Less: Bank charges | (₹200) |
| Balance as per Passbook | ₹62,700 |
